Troop 1214

Troop Cabin Camping Trip – January 2024

In January, the Troop went on our annual Cabin Camping trip, this time to Baltimore Area Council’s own camp, Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation in Harford County.  The Scouts, and of course the Adults, enjoyed the opportunity to sleep in our two warm cabins (if we kept the fire going), have a warm fire outside, and to cook meals together as a patrol.  This year was different – we stayed the entire weekend to afford the Scouts the opportunity to do something fun & exciting (see below)!  We also conducted our leadership interviews where we see what positions all the Scouts would like to fill in the coming year.

On Saturday, with the awesome assistance of fellow BAC Scouter volunteers, the Troop was able to shoot at the Rifle Range in the morning and the Archery Range in the afternoon.  The Scouts also worked on advancements. You can tell by the smiles that they had a blast.  On Saturday night, while most of the Scouters warmed up by the fire outside and conducted leadership interviews, the Scouts watched a movie in one of the cabins and enjoyed their own “cracker barrel” snacks!  Thanks to Broad Creek and our fellow Scouters for making this camping trip a success!
