During the weekend of 24-26 January 2025, the Troop again ventured to Camp Puh’Tok in the Pines, a YMCA camp near the Pennsylvania border, for our annual cabin camping trip. The Scouts, and lets be honest, the Scouters as well, enjoyed the amenities and activities at Camp Puh’Tok when we went there in 2023, so this was an easy choice during our annual planning conference in August 2024! Troop 771 joined us on the camping trip as well this year. Scoutmaster Mike and the leaders also conducted our leadership interviews in order to what positions all the Scouts would like to fill in the coming year.
On Friday night, since we didn’t have as much to set up, the Scouts watched a movie while the leaders conducted some of the interviews. On Saturday they worked on advancements and the Camp Staff facilitated a team-building activity where the Scouts, in their Patrols, had to start fires as a team without using matches! It was a fun but hard challenge, especially with all the snow on the ground.
Our sister Troop, Troop 192, was also camping at Camp Puh’Tok that weekend and the three Troops had several activities together, including a joint campfire program indoors in one of the cabins!
