Troop 1214

Pancake Supper at St. Martin’s – 17 February 2026

Troop 771 had an annual tradition of hosting a Pancake Supper at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, and as the two Troops combined activities and prepared to merge, Troop 1214 wanted to keep this tradition alive.  On Shrove Tuesday, 17 January 2026, the Scouts set up tables in the gymnasium, complete with table cloths and silverware, and then got to the task at hand of cooking lots of pancakes and reheating sausages for the church patrons that were coming to pay for a hearty “breakfast as dinner” experience.  The Scouts surprised some of their parents with their cooking skills and their manners as they served the hungry crowd!

This event served as a fundraiser and as a service project in support of the church.  The other part of this honorable tradition is that the Troop makes a donation to the Church, usually on Scout Sunday.  The Pancake Supper proceeds go towards this donation, a small token of thanks for the support and facilities that the church provides Scouting.  Next year, this event will be even better as we take the lessons learned, adapt our approach, and provide a great service to the church and its community!
